Your Support Created Real Change in 2025
Thanks to supporters like you, 2025 has been a breakthrough year for Awake Illinois—and for the families we serve together. Here’s just some of what your partnership made possible this year:
We filed federal civil rights complaints against the Illinois State Board of Education, Valley View SD 365U, and Naperville 203 for Title VI and Title IX violations
We recommitted to our mission after thousands of parents begged us to keep fighting
Awake Illinois Founder Shannon Adcock was honored with two major awards for her courageous leadership:
→ The 2025 “Titanium Backbone” Award from Illinois Family Institute→ The 2025 “Never Surrender ” Award from Defending Ed
We elevated Illinois issues in national news
We STOPPED the anti-home school bill 2827 and EXPOSED dangerous statewide legislation, including forced mental-health screenings that would impact every student
We provided opt out forms to Illinois parents—thousands have been downloaded from our website and submitted to schools
We strengthened and expanded strategic alliances with trusted grassroots organizations across Illinois and America
