This past weekend, families in Oak Park and River Forest woke up to #Covidian ground zero.
For those of us AWAKE for the past early two years...this isn't a coincidence.
So, what is really happening here?
Long story short: Beware of the Political Variant
Governor Pritzker (D) was endorsed by the Illinois Federation of Teachers which is part of the American Federation of Teachers (a political arm of the Democratic Party whose President Randi Weingarten publicly proclaims her partisan stances). Governor Pritzker also has ties to Covid-19 testing, which raises many questions regarding ethics and conflict of interest, especially considering he has issued 23 disaster proclamations since March 2020.
Speaker of the House Chris Welch (D) and Senate President Don Harmon (D) represent the
Oak Park/River Forest Communities. Both voted to amend the Healthcare Right of Conscience Act in October with "yes" vote and have a very close relationship with the Governor.
They are pictured together last month in London toasting climate (and the fact they can sit together unmasked unlike K-12 students back in Illinois schools).
Oak Park Public Health Director Theresa Chapple-McGruder started her role in May and has a record of supporting virtual learning as highlighted in this October 2020 article:

Scheduled for tomorrow, Oak Park Health Director Theresa Chapple-McGruder will join AFT President Randi Weingarten on a Town Hall after telling kids that in order to stay in school and activities, they have to wear a KN95 mask all day, save it, and reuse it while having to test for Covid-19 which may well be putting money into the pocket of Governor Pritzker.
