Policing & Public Safety Updates with Law Enforcement Fellow Chief Tom Weitzel
Awake Illinois Fellow of Law Enforcement Chief Tom Weitzel (Ret.) gave the latest updates on policing and public safety on today's livestream with host Shannon Adcock.

The topics included the Chief's latest petition letter to Chief Judge Charles Beach II of the Circuit Court of Cook County asking for a transfer and review of Judge John Lyke.
As covered by CWB, Judge John Lyke - who released repeat violent felon Alphanso Talley on electronic monitoring before he was charged with killing a Chicago police officer - is accused of holding two courtroom deputies in contempt for not immediately removing handcuffs from a different inmate charged with murder.

Chief Weitzel and Shannon also covered Senator Tammy Duckworth's ridiculous statement that black teenagers, men, and women are being "executed at the hands of law enforcement". This inflammatory rhetoric is egregious from a sitting U.S. Senator.
The Chief also recapped his blog post on the Democratic Socialists of America and they're insane agenda to abolish police and prisons. Is the goal to promote chaos? Appears so.
Meet the Chief at upcoming events this week and next across Illinois. Share your comments and ask him questions on law enforcement and public safety.

In a closing call to action, the Chief and Shannon encouraged Illinois to get out the vote during early voting or on election day Tuesday, November 3rd, 2026. Find your nearest polling location here. Protect Liberty and VOTE REPUBLICAN.
